The Claremont Main Road Masjid (CMRM) congregation congratulates Hafiz Muhammad Lubwama on his successful achievement of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Islamic Studies majoring in Shari`ah from the International Peace College South Africa (IPSA). The official graduation ceremony took place online on 7 June 2020. In a report about his achievement, one his teachers, Shaykh Fakhruddin Owaisi, wrote the following: “Muhamad Lubwama has been a keen student, who was dedicated to his studies despite all hurdles. In addition to doing hard work, he is also an avid thinker who likes to challenge the status quo and question something until he is convinced of it. His presence in the class made the class more exciting and enriching”. Hafiz Muhammad is from Uganda and has been leading the tarawih Salah at CMRM since Ramadan 2016. Following this, from January 2017 until the present, he has been leading the daily congregational prayers at the masjid. He is currently enrolled at IPSA for the one-year BA Honours Degree in Islamic Studies. In a note of gratitude to the CMRM Board of Governors, Hafiz Muhammad wrote: “Alhamdulillah with your support and the grace of Allah I was able to continue with my education, maybe I wouldn’t have gone further. Your generous contribution has also inspired me to help others reach their goals in education and also give back to the community once I begin my career.” CMRM is proud of Hafiz Muhammad Lubwama’s educational achievement and we make du`a that he will successfully complete an Honours degree in Islamic Studies, insha-Allah.
