On Sunday 27 November 2016, CMRM’s Qur’an Literacy Workshop met for their final session of 2016. The monthly Qura’n Literacy workshop was a joint initiative with the Muslim Youth Movement (Western Cape) and attracted a small group of ten students. The literacy group was facilitated by Imam Rashied, Jihad Omar and Ihsaan Bassier and convened 6 times since Ramadan 2016. The group covered the following Surahs: Surah Tabarak (Q67) Surah al-Fatiha (Q1) Surah al-Kafirun (Q109), Surah al-Nasr (Q110), Surah al-Lahab (Q111), Surah al-Ikhlas (Q112), Surah al-Falaq (Q113), Surah al-Nas (Q114) and Surah al-Baqarah – verses 1-7 & 255 (Ayat al-Kursiyy) & verses 244-246 (last three verses of Surah al-Baqarah). The workshops will resume on Sunday 29 January 2017 (11am-1pm) and will cover Surah al-Kahf (Q18).
